Vanessa Redgrave (Mary Tyrone) LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT marks Vanessa Redgrave's first appearance on Broadway in 14 years; she previously starred in the acclaimed 1989 revival of Tennessee Williams's ORPHEUS DESCENDING and in the 1976 Circle in the Square revival of Ibsen's THE LADY FROM THE SEA.

On the London stage, Ms. Redgrave's credits in the past twenty years have included LADY WINDERMERE'S FAN, THE TEMPEST (as Prospero), THE CHERRY ORCHARD, A SONG AT TWILIGHT, JOHN GABRIEL BORKMAN, ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, HEARTBREAK HOUSE, THE THREE SISTERS, A MADHOUSE IN GOA, A TOUCH OF THE POET, A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, ORPHEUS DESCENDING, GHOSTS, and THE SEAGULL.

 

 

 

Brian Dennehy (James Tyrone) Brian Dennehy received the 1999 Tony Award for his performance as Willy Loman in the 50th anniversary production of Arthur Miller's DEATH OF A SALESMAN, also directed by Robert Falls.

Other theater credits include the Broadway production of Brian Friel's TRANSLATIONS; Peter Brook's 1988 production of THE CHERRY ORCHARD at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Majestic Theater; SAYS I, SAYS HE at the Mark Taper Forum and the Phoenix Theatre in New York; and RAT IN THE SKULL at Chicago 's Wisdom Bridge Theatre.

 

 

Philip Seymour Hoffman (James, Jr.) Philip Seymour Hoffman is the co-artistic director of New York's LAByrinth Theater Company.

Robert Sean Leonard (Edmund) Robert Sean Leonard won the 2001 Tony Award for his performance in Tom Stoppard's THE INVENTION OF LOVE, for which he also received the Outer Critics Circle Award.
